Go tankless, Houston!

Tankless Revolution

July 1, 2009 · 3 Comments

Hello, Houston!!

My name is Eddie, and I’m the newest member of the Hot Water team.  I’ll be doing at least one post a week here on our blog. My goal here is to help educate everybody on the many benefits and the technology that applies to tankless water heating. I’ll be doing a Q&A forum every couple of weeks, so feel free to post your burning questions in the comments below. Or you can email me: eddie-at-hotwaterguys.com.

This is an exciting time in the tankless industry and there are many new products appearing on the market.  I’ll be going over some of them and many of the different brands of tankless water heaters now available in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks to all of our current customers, and welcome to all visitors to our blog.  Remember… keep those questions rolling in!!

Great idea, Eddie! I’ll send people here when they have questions about tankless.

Tom and Kenny are lucky to have you on board! :)

Oh, I just remembered a question someone asked several months ago. Rob, I think.

“Would you say the only difference between an exterior vs interior unit is the distance in pipe and delay for your water to get hot intially?
Any other positive or negatives you can think of, because I don’t see any other reasons why more people don’t have exterior units.”

I’ve been doing research on tankless in relation to my water heater timer website.

According to energy-star website, the numbers work for tankless gas, but not tankless electric. With my conventional tank and a timer, I am putting up numbers that exceed tankless savings … caveat that it requires scheduling hot water use

The down-side for tankless is vulnerability to high tech >> > it rankles me that we are again promoting the market to accept a high-tech gadget that cannot be made -or repaired- in your town..

Tankless units are imported from Germany and China which reduces the value of each home that installs a tankless unit

My website is a shill for joe-public > there is no profit in my do-it-yourself website > I am suggesting a retrofit of existing equipment > not an expensive replacement that would take years for payback

    That’s my story…
